"When we prepared to move house some weeks ago, we rediscovered an handful of slides (about 20years old) and a box full of video tapes (VHS and Hi8, 15-25 years old). Back in Switzerland we had been going through some digitization projects but the process was usually lengthy, cumbersome and expensive. Then I stumbled upon Eric and Good Time Photo Service in the web. And the service Eric provided blew me away: he was there for questions, responded quickly and kept me up to date on the progress. He quickly produced some (encouraging) feedback on the picture quality he could achieve from the tapes. "In preparing the slideshow for my Dad’s funeral, I found some invaluable 40-50-year-old negatives which were in very poor condition with lots of scratches and thick layer of dirt and grime. I approached some photography chain stores, but they said they cannot fix it. Finally, I got Eric by searching on internet. He not only helped me to digitalize the images, he also helped me to remove the dust and substantially improved the image quality by simply scanning. What impressed me the most was that …. My Dad was single eyed due to an accident when he was young. We could never get his eye back when he’s alive, but Eric helped me to fix it proactively without my request!! I know Dad would be very happy to see his handsome face again in heaven!!! Also, I don’t expect I will get 4 version of the images …. (1) Original scan; (2) Enhanced images with more contrast; (3) Enhanced images with more details and (4) Web friendly images. Way too considerate for their customers!!! More importantly, I just paid HK$366 for 11 images and able to get the final product within only 2 days!!! That’s amazing!!! "- it was very fast. thanks. - the thumbnail email was good, although it was a very big file (6mb) and some email programs might not be able to handle (my office will reject attachments bigger than 8mb). - I really really liked the fact you gave two versions of the jpegs…original scan and edited scan. This is great. I did not get this when I had 300 images scanned over the summer with a company (https://digmypics.com) in the US (that took seven days). - Scanning quality was good, colours generally very good and I could tell by comparing original scans to edited ones, you worked on the images. If, and only if, I could give constructive feedback, I would suggest that you should be careful of the white levels. On some of the edited scans, I found the whites a tad blown out with the detail gone. So I took the original and re-Photoshopped them myself (but note that I work with PS every day..it's my job). But this was only a small handful out of the 132 images. Overall I would take the edited versions you did since that saves me a lot of time. - Although I wish there was a credit card option, I understand that's not possible. So direct transfer worked very well and you confirmed asap. thanks. - Communication was great along each step of the way. "

Thank you for your feedback. The white in the highlight area or black in shadow area may sometimes get blown out a little by our enhancement process to either make the image brighter or less wash out. It is a balance step we take to give the image a generally better look. In addition, we also provide Original Scans to preserve as much original photo information as possible, and client can edit these images according to personal needs.

"My husband recently unearthed some very old Kodak slides taken in the 1970's. I enquired when I was recently on a trip to Australia and the cost of having some 400 slides downloaded on to a disc was fairly steep.
